I love Indian food, it reminds me of the time I was traveling in north India back when I was in my twenties. The thing about Indian food is it’s mostly vegetarian and really deep-flavored with oriental spices. I remember my first response to the flavors was shocking, can you imagen me, 20 years old at a train station eating samosa find out there are little small green chillis hiding inside? Let me tell it was traumatic and made me stick to western food for the next few days. That all changed when I had my first malai kofta, which is a potato and paneer balls that are deep fried, coated with malai and then added into an onion-tomato gravy. It was delicious and made me try all sort of new exotic dishes. It’s been more that 10 years since my first visit to India, and I still miss all the rich flavors there. I try to visit Indian restaurants as often as I can, but honestly nothing campers to the real think. This Indian-style red lentil fritters, are the closest thing I ever made to an Indian dish. It is real easy to make, which makes them all more atractive. Theses resemble the classic fritters sold on street corners in Dehli, only more friendly to the western stomach. If you’re anything like me, and you love Indian food you should really give these a try there addictive!

What do we do with the onions? My lentils are soaking tight now, so I hope to hear back from you sooner than later.
Thank you for an interesting recipe.

Ohh I just saw your message. You’re supposed to mix the chopped onions into the lentils.
Hope it worked out.
